TransMedics Receives $25.5 Million In New Funding

ANDOVER, MA -- Medical technology company TransMedics announced the closing of its fourth round of venture funding, receiving $25.5 million in new investment.

TransMedics has developed organ transplant storage system that improves the health of organs being transplanted, resulting in what it claims are better transplants.

The company intends to use the proceeds to complete U.S. clinical trials, to launch its Organ Care System in Europe and to extend its system to organs other than the heart.  Investors included 3i, Tudor Investment, Alta Partners, CB Health Ventures, Flagship Ventures, Posco BioVentures and others.
